DKSH’s partnership with Alcon, the global leader in eye care, has been expanded, solidifying its position as the authorized partner and distributor in Malaysia. Following an existing collaboration in several markets in Asia, this extended partnership aims to strengthen Alcon’s position in the Malaysian market for products addressing dry and irritated eyes as well as procedural vision care.
Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, June 28, 2024 – DKSH Business Unit Healthcare, a leading partner for companies seeking to grow their healthcare business in Asia and beyond, is proud to announce the extension of their strategic partnership with Alcon, a global leader in eye care with a heritage spanning over 75 years that offers the broadest portfolio of products to enhance sight and improve people’s lives. This expanded collaboration is geared towards fortifying Alcon’s presence in the Malaysian market for dry and irritated eye solutions and procedural eye drops to Malaysian patients.
As part of this expanded partnership, DKSH Healthcare will now undertake the role of providing comprehensive Market Expansion Services that encompass sales and marketing, distribution, and logistics, as well as credit and collection. Leveraging on DKSH Healthcare’s extensive omni-channel strategy, the collaboration expands the accessibility of Alcon’s products across diverse distribution channels, including chain and independent pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals.
Notably, the partnership has undergone substantial evolution since its inception. Initially, DKSH Healthcare collaborated with Alcon for a decade, focusing on warehousing and distribution. Subsequently, the collaboration shifted towards commercial outsourcing, exclusively distributing the Systane range, which encompasses products for relief from dry eye symptoms or for healthy vision, to independent pharmacies. Throughout its existence, this partnership has been marked by mutual success and a steadfast commitment to providing top-notch eye care solutions. Besides Malaysia, DKSH successfully works together with Alcon in other markets, namely Thailand and Vietnam.
Sandeep Tewari, Head Country Management and Vice President, Healthcare, DKSH Malaysia, added: “The Systane family of dry eye products has been a cornerstone of our collaboration with Alcon, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership to bring their innovation to even more patients in Malaysia. We look forward to building on our past achievements and achieving new milestones in this extended collaboration, further strengthening our commitment to enriching people’s lives and providing healthcare for all.”
