Antifreeze agents are sprayed on roads in winter to prevent them from freezing. Since chloride-based antifreeze agents such as sodium chloride can cause metal corrosion in road structures, we offer non-chloride sodium propionate as a new antifreeze agent.

Sodium propionate is a food additive well known as a preservative that inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi. Sodium propionate can be used alone or mixed with sodium chloride.
