DKSH opens new distribution center in Battambang to expand its footprint in Cambodia
DKSH further enhances its business in Cambodia by opening a new distribution center in Battambang in northwestern Cambodia. The modern facility plays a vital role in providing support for state-of-the-art distribution and logistics to clients and customers and in servicing the country's northwest area with high-quality products.
Media release
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, May 7, 2019 – DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods, a leading partner for fast moving consumer goods companies seeking to grow their business in Asia, has opened a 1,600 square meter distribution center in Battambang, the capital city of Battambang province in northwestern Cambodia.
The new facility will be used as the northwest hub to reinforce DKSH's unique capillary distribution network in Cambodia. The larger and more advanced distribution center replaces an older facility, which was operating at full capacity, and represents a significant capacity upgrade in DKSH's consumer goods infrastructure in Cambodia. The distribution center is managed by a highly contemporary warehouse management system and is connected to DKSH's global SAP platform. In line with DKSH's dedication to quality assurance and compliance, the facility is temperature-controlled and strictly adheres to the ISO 9001: 2015 international standard.
With almost 1,800 local employees, DKSH is one of Cambodia's leading business organizations. The new distribution center in Battambang joins DKSH's state-of-the-art facilities in Phnom Penh (opened in 2015) and in Siem Reap (2017).
Kwanchai Assanee, Head Country Management and Vice President, Business Unit Consumer Goods, DKSH Cambodia and Laos said: “With a fast-growing middle class demanding high-quality products, Cambodia is one of the region's growth markets. DKSH is at the forefront of this growth, helping clients from across the world enter and expand their business in the market through a range of marketing, sales, distribution and logistics services. We build on more than 60 years of experience in Cambodia and command a strong regional network. Opening a center in Battambang means we have significantly strengthened our presence in northwestern Cambodia.”
