Media release
Taipei, Taiwan, June 13, 2019 – DKSH Taiwan, the leading Market Expansion Service provider for healthcare companies seeking to grow their business in Asia, will build the largest, next-generation healthcare distribution center in Taiwan. The automated, healthcare-dedicated warehouse will meet the qualifications for the certifications regarding Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme for Good Manufacturing and Distribution Practices (PIC/S GMP and PIC/S GDP). DKSH Taiwan, together with the developer Ally Logistic Property, organized a launching ceremony for the construction project on-site. The project is expected to be completed by 2020. Marking a new milestone for healthcare logistic services, the next-generation distribution center will become an important logistic base for international pharmaceutical companies that strive to enter and expand in the Taiwanese market.
The healthcare distribution center will be located at the original site of DKSH's consumer goods warehouse in Taoyuan. Ally Logistic Property is the landlord and the constructor of this DKSH-dedicated stand-alone property. With a simple and stylish exterior design, the contemporary look of the building will set itself apart from a stereotypical warehouse. The center will have a total floor space of approximately 35,000 square meters (over 10,000 pings). DKSH Taiwan plans to equip the facility with automation systems, including automated storage, sorting equipment, logistics information systems, multi-temperature spaces, fully backed-up power systems and an innovative air circulation system to satisfy the storage and distribution needs of temperature-sensitive healthcare products as well as to fulfill the industry's quality assurance requirements.
Charlie Chang, Managing Director of Ally Logistics Property Company Limited, said: "It is our pleasure to work with DKSH to develop the infrastructure for the next-generation healthcare distribution center. I believe with Ally Logistic Property's extended experience, we will not only build a logistic base that meets our customer's needs, but also successfully support DKSH Taiwan in leading the healthcare logistic services to the next level."
Wennie Chang, Vice President, Business Unit Healthcare, DKSH Taiwan, indicated: "In view of the increasingly diversified healthcare products and the stricter international quality control regulations, the bar for quality logistics services has also been raised. With our extensive experience and expertise as well as our passion, DKSH Taiwan's Healthcare Supply Chain Management has always been proud of providing the highest service standards. By planning and building the largest automated healthcare distribution center in Taiwan, we expect to improve the efficiency of our logistics operations and to provide the best services to our clients and customers, while meeting the high-quality standards of the pharmaceutical industry."
