DKSH publishes 2020 Sustainability Report and introduces new Sustainability Framework

Media release
Zurich, Switzerland, June 15, 2021 – Fulfilling the Group's purpose of enriching people's lives, DKSH has played a critical role since the outbreak of COVID-19 by reliably providing people with access to essential healthcare, consumer, specialty chemical and technological products. Aligned with this purpose, DKSH established a new Sustainability Framework in 2020 along the three pillars “Our People – Our Partners – Our Planet” and set targets and action steps for each pillar.
To develop people, DKSH is committed to strengthening training capabilities and expanding training reach. DKSH also launched the “Belonging@DKSH” program to foster diversity and inclusion. 53% of our employees are women. Already today, we employ 27% women and 73% local nationals in our senior leadership teams.
DKSH drives growth for partners at the highest governance standards. The Group established a sustainability governance structure with Board of Directors oversight, targets for all Executive Committee members and the formation of a Sustainability Committee.
DKSH also takes responsibility for the planet. To reach its goal of becoming climate-neutral in its own operations by 2030, DKSH decreased emissions by 8% in 2020 and targets another 35% reduction by 2025. The Group will expand renewable energy consumption and further compensate unavoidable emissions. In addition, in 2020, DKSH supported more than 40 social projects for local communities.
DKSH CEO Stefan P. Butz said: “Several years ago, we embarked on a long-term journey to build a better company for all our stakeholders. Following the launch of our revised Identity and values, the next logical step was to establish a Sustainability Framework with clear targets and action plans. The Framework underlines our commitment to measure, improve and report on relevant sustainability topics.”
The 2020 Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. Greenhouse Gas emissions in 2020 have been verified in accordance with ISAE 3000 by SGS. The Sustainability Report including the assurance report and verification statement is available at www.dksh.com/sustainability
