Enriching People's Lives Through Better Vision For Elderly Patients in Thailand
The rising prevalence of eye diseases in Thailand is a growing concern, particularly among the market’s aging population. According to recent data, over 1.5 million people in Thailand are affected by cataracts, and nearly 500,000 suffer from glaucoma, with these numbers expected to rise as the population ages.

The hot and humid climate further exacerbates conditions such as eye degeneration, cataracts, and glaucoma, making eye health a significant public health challenge.
In response to this issue, DKSH Business Unit Healthcare has successfully raised public awareness and funds for the Thai Red Cross Society's Eye Clinic and Surgery Project. This initiative provides essential eye care services to elderly individuals and patients in remote areas of Thailand, addressing a critical healthcare need.
The DKSH Patient Purpose Day Run 2024, held in Bangkok, brought together over 1,200 participants, including members of the public and DKSH employees, raising nearly THB 660,000. The funds will be used to support patients in rural areas suffering from eye conditions such as retinopathy, cataracts, and glaucoma.
This event is part of a broader series of DKSH Healthcare initiatives across Asia in celebration of “Patient Purpose Day,” held throughout September. This year’s focus is on elder care, highlighting the urgent need to support the region’s aging populations through collaborative community efforts.
At DKSH, our purpose is to enrich people’s lives.
